Some new inspiration

I got excited about St.Patty's day and had no decorations for it...so I made just a few.
I thought these turned out kinda cute! I just glued a smaller horse shoe on a wood block. Then for the smaller ones I got the clovers at JoAnn's in sale, put them on metal rods, drilled a hole in the small blocks and added some scrapbook paper and there ya go. Cut the "kiss me" letters with my new Cricut...which I LOVE!!!
The Lucky to have you was a free printable and I added the wood horse show and clover. The clover bouquet I made out of sparkly foam clovers from the dollar store and out them on cabob sticks I painted:)
This is just a touch of spring decor I set up in the corner because I'm wanting spring here so bad!!!
Mason jar and flowers! I LOVE Mason jars!!! You'll see as I post more pics of my house!
Springy mason jar nest on an old candle base I painted. Those cute blue eggs used to be tan...my girls brought them home from grandmas house one day:) oops sorry mom...after Easter I'll paint them back tan and you can have them back:)
This is what I have sitting on my table right now! I love the old glass picture I found with the flowers, but I just couldn't put my cute rooster up! So this is what I have for now. I'm sure I'll change it once I pull out the rest of my spring decor.
Look how cute and simple this hat is I made...got the idea off Pinterest. Just some old wood blocks, paint, paper, ribbon and a clover! oh and some glue to hold it together:)
This is my FAMILY letters on my fireplace mantel. I got them from the DI and they weren't very cute! After some paint, scrapbook paper and this n that from the junk drawer...I love them!
Old wash board from the DI I painted and distressed and added the star. Have I mentioned how much I love this color!!!
This was just a repaint that I bought from the DI. Gave it some paint and distressed a bit! Love it!

Some inspiration

Hey everyone! Happy Wednesday! It's happy for me because my hubby comes home after being gone to work in PA for the past 2 weeks. For those of you who don't know, he works in the oil field on the rigs. Yep he's a roughneck:) It's hard having him gone, but I love getting him home for 2 weeks at a time!
Today I'm just posting some of the smaller little projects that I've been working on here and there. In between Kyler's naps or after the kids go to sleep! I hope that they can give some inspiration. Some were stolen off Pinterest...like the cute little hat for st.patty's...and some are my own creations!

Bread Box Makeover

antique book shelf before and after

Remember this cute little book stand from my to do list...well I finally got it done! (This was in my grandma's house for years and years and held some of her pictures of all her grand and great grandchildren)
I wanted to use this somewhere in my house since it had such meaning to me. So I did a little adjusting by taking off the dated curvy wood on the top and I added some molding around the bottom. Painted, distressed and stained. ( I got a little anxious in this picture and took it before the paint was all the way dry:)
This is the top!
I put it in my sons room with his toy bins. Don't ya just love his cute lamp my friend Amy made!!!

Yay! My hubby's home!!! Let the projects begin!!!

As some of you know my husband works in the oil field and is gone for 2 weeks at a time. He's home now and we are all so excited to see him! Kyler even ran up to him at the airport and put his arms up for Stephen to hold him! Melts my heart:) I'm so glad that being only 18 months, he doesn't forget or get nervous when daddy comes homes! He's all about dad!!!
I'm hoping the weather gets better so I can get outside and paint some of my larger furniture! I've got a stock pile out there and am so excited to get it done and posted! I'm going to try and do picture along the way to show some of the technique's I use to paint and distress. I'm sure I don't do everything the "proper" way...but hey, it works:) I also will be posting possibly tomorrow about another mini makeover we are giving our kitchen. And I'm hoping to get my old antique doors done and table and chairs set done while my hubby is home. So keep checking back because I'm planning on being a busy busy mama from now til he flies out again:)

Large Shelf w/Hooks - Black with Red Distress Marks

{Large Shelf w/Hooks - Black with Red Distress Marks} $75.00
This was such a fun project!!! This is an old headboard turned shelf. I first cut the legs off, did a little sanding around, but not too much because I wanted it to be distressed and have that old farm house feel. Then I painted it red, let dry, then painted it black. Distressed with a sand block so some of the red shows through.
Then I added 4 large hooks and some good ol chicken wire to give it that country feel that I thought it had from the beginning.
Loved how it turned out! Would look so cute in a kitchen with some plates or cute little primitive crafts. It also has a small circle hole in the bottom of the shelf so you can run a power cord to add some lighting or a burner.
Measurements; 4 feet 7 inches long x 7 1/2 inches wide x 16 1/2 inches tall.
